Who We Are

Our Story

The Quincy Boss Ladies grew up on this beautiful island and spent many evenings with dear friends and family imagining the kinds of businesses they would like to build in their community. After leaving for university, exploring new cities, working in Ireland and Scotland together, traveling in Europe with Miss Brenna, growing up around family businesses & the Casual Gourmet, really great years in Halifax, summers of fun in Cape Breton, Jesse working at the Casual ❤️, studying public relations and graphic design, extensive experience in the hospitality sector, volunteering with exciting community events, Brian coming home for Christmas ❤️,  5 little (not so little now) kids, cats, dogs, a move to Toronto, trips with the girls exploring the best of so many new places, the buying and selling of a few houses, working in community development, a PhD program in communication and culture, seeing the incredible opportunity in our little town and two very enthusiastic moves back to Cape Breton… the time was finally right in the fall of 2016 for Lindsay and Jen to build something of their own.

Ok, but if you've seen us in action you know we are very lucky. We are never alone in any of our projects! There are always two fabulous mommas on the scene with two dads ready to jump in wherever and whenever needed! Add in a few generous younger brothers, fabulous sisters- in-law, three super cool Mothers-in-law and a very supportive father-in-law! Our extended Ryan, MacIsaac, Sexton, Cameron and Brennan families... I mean we hit the jackpot with these creative, kind and loving people. 

Recently, we've been learning so much from the littles, Winni, Maeve, Sarah, Brent and Emma. They are being pulled into all things Quincy in so many new and exciting ways. Finally, Jesse and Brian, there is no end to ways in which you are there for us. Not only did they rebuild beautiful Quincy from the studs with us, this winter alone included walking a runway and building/ lifting a live 8'x8' greenery chandelier over a dance floor - you get the picture.
